This is my honey cat.

You all know my kitty (my baby) has been really sick for the past month and a half. He is only five years old and he has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. We believe that he got into some glycol when we were having some work done on our house in January. Glycol is like antifreeze. Antifreeze is very dangerous to kitties. Usually within hours of exposure they die. Lucky for us that didn't happen. It wasn't until I got back from San Francisco that I had realized that there was something seriously wrong with him. After many tests, vet stays and ultrasounds they determined that his kidneys have been seriously damaged, and probably won't repair themselves, so his body has to work with a lower kidney function. Kidney damage in kitties also causes anemia, so we are treating that as well. I am being optimistic and hoping for the best.

By telling you this: I hope that if you ever have any work done on your house where chemicals are used make sure they are okay for your children or your pets to be around. God forbid if a human baby had ingested this poison.

(this photo was taken last fall...he is much skinnier now, by about 5-7 pounds. )

Two of my clients have delivered early. One little guy was really early, he is still in the hospital. He was just over 3 pounds when he was born and he is over 4 pounds this week. Soon he will get to come home. The other baby was born 3.5 weeks early, but all is fine. Thank goodness.

Here is a preview of the beautiful mommy to be I photographed a couple of weeks ago.

Double Post Day--a few sessions of the past month.

What a crazy month...between sessions, getting orders together, taking care of my kitty, there hasn't been much time for posting new stuff. Here is a couple of images from a couple of sessions I did.
Our sweet friend Olivia. She is always super serious when I am photographing her, but that's alright, she is super cute no matter what she does. Her mommy and I decided to try her one year session at her house. Maybe it was the studio that was making her be so serious? We managed to get a few smiles and giggles. Eventhough she is pretty serious in this image I still love it.

Very stunning lady. She is so beautiful. The with child glow was shiny brighter than ever. Her little guy that she has already is such a charmer. His eyelashes alone makes you fall in love with him. (not to mention his super cute Australian accent.) I can wait to see you new little guy when he arrives.
Another stunning mommy-to-be. We had a great session. We shot a couple of frames with her little puppy. (normally dogs don't come into the studio, but her little guy was too cute to not let him in.)

There is still tons to post, but I have to run. Take care everyone and I will talk to you all very soon.

San Francisco, California--whoo hoo

At the end of February I had the greatest oppertunity to attend a workshop in San Francisco. The workshop was all about working with kids, babies, newborns....pretty much what I do on a regular basis. Being in a room with 40 other people who are passionate about the same things as you is pretty amazing At the end of the first day we got to go shoot some models. Our backdrop was the streets in San Francisco. Here is a peek of a couple of the kids I photographed.

And by streets of San Fran, I really mean the streets of San Fran.

By the time I got to this little girl, she was very tired, and didn't really want her photo taken anymore. I got a couple great images of her, this is by far my favourite.

Such a cutie, all of the photographers wanted to photograph this little guy. So photogenic. (it must come from his mom taking his picture all the time, she is a photographer too!)

This girl is so beautiful. She reminds me of myself when I was her age. Not really sure of myself and feeling out of place. Don't worry kido, you will fit in just fine.
