Honey Cat--Part 2 (excuse the really awful point and shoot image.)

I have some wonderful news on the Honey front. He is our miracle kitty, he is getting better against all the odds. Last week he decided that he was going to start eating on his own again. Whoo hoo! So since he decided that he was going to eat on his own, he decided to pull out his own feeding tube. (who needs a tube when you can eat all by yourself!)

He is still on his wonderful medication. (which proves to be super difficult since there is no more tube to inject them into.....any one have any pointers on how to get him to take his meds?)

I am so relieved. He is my honey cat again!

Shoes

This baby girl has cooler shoes than I do and she isn't even born yet. (they made the baby's Grandma cry in the store)
I wonder if they come in my size? Don't get me wrong heels rock, but if your job is to chase children around like a crazy lady with a camera around her neck...flats are definitely better!

I can't wait for the arrival of this little gal. I also can't wait to watch you grow through your first year. Only a few more weeks until she arrives....see you soon!

Three Boys

Another beautiful little boy added to this wonderful family. I don't know how you guys do it.
Little Rayn is very fortunate to have two incredible big brothers to watch over him. (and to get him into trouble when he is older...)

I love how the daddy and boys shot worked out. It is just so beautiful.

My Job Rocks

I am very fortunate to be able to photograph cute, giggly babies on a weekly basis. Nothing brings more joy to my life than being able to capture the first smiles and first giggles of 6 month old baby.

Watching these babies grow in front of my eyes is the most rewarding part of my job. This little girl is no exception. I have watched her grow from inside her mommies tummy until now--I can hardly believe she is 6 months already! Where on earth did the time go. She is such a cutie pie! I can't wait to see you again in October.

This is my honey cat.

You all know my kitty (my baby) has been really sick for the past month and a half. He is only five years old and he has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. We believe that he got into some glycol when we were having some work done on our house in January. Glycol is like antifreeze. Antifreeze is very dangerous to kitties. Usually within hours of exposure they die. Lucky for us that didn't happen. It wasn't until I got back from San Francisco that I had realized that there was something seriously wrong with him. After many tests, vet stays and ultrasounds they determined that his kidneys have been seriously damaged, and probably won't repair themselves, so his body has to work with a lower kidney function. Kidney damage in kitties also causes anemia, so we are treating that as well. I am being optimistic and hoping for the best.

By telling you this: I hope that if you ever have any work done on your house where chemicals are used make sure they are okay for your children or your pets to be around. God forbid if a human baby had ingested this poison.

(this photo was taken last fall...he is much skinnier now, by about 5-7 pounds. )

Two of my clients have delivered early. One little guy was really early, he is still in the hospital. He was just over 3 pounds when he was born and he is over 4 pounds this week. Soon he will get to come home. The other baby was born 3.5 weeks early, but all is fine. Thank goodness.

Here is a preview of the beautiful mommy to be I photographed a couple of weeks ago.

Double Post Day--a few sessions of the past month.

What a crazy month...between sessions, getting orders together, taking care of my kitty, there hasn't been much time for posting new stuff. Here is a couple of images from a couple of sessions I did.
Our sweet friend Olivia. She is always super serious when I am photographing her, but that's alright, she is super cute no matter what she does. Her mommy and I decided to try her one year session at her house. Maybe it was the studio that was making her be so serious? We managed to get a few smiles and giggles. Eventhough she is pretty serious in this image I still love it.

Very stunning lady. She is so beautiful. The with child glow was shiny brighter than ever. Her little guy that she has already is such a charmer. His eyelashes alone makes you fall in love with him. (not to mention his super cute Australian accent.) I can wait to see you new little guy when he arrives.
Another stunning mommy-to-be. We had a great session. We shot a couple of frames with her little puppy. (normally dogs don't come into the studio, but her little guy was too cute to not let him in.)

There is still tons to post, but I have to run. Take care everyone and I will talk to you all very soon.

San Francisco, California--whoo hoo

At the end of February I had the greatest oppertunity to attend a workshop in San Francisco. The workshop was all about working with kids, babies, newborns....pretty much what I do on a regular basis. Being in a room with 40 other people who are passionate about the same things as you is pretty amazing At the end of the first day we got to go shoot some models. Our backdrop was the streets in San Francisco. Here is a peek of a couple of the kids I photographed.

And by streets of San Fran, I really mean the streets of San Fran.

By the time I got to this little girl, she was very tired, and didn't really want her photo taken anymore. I got a couple great images of her, this is by far my favourite.

Such a cutie, all of the photographers wanted to photograph this little guy. So photogenic. (it must come from his mom taking his picture all the time, she is a photographer too!)

This girl is so beautiful. She reminds me of myself when I was her age. Not really sure of myself and feeling out of place. Don't worry kido, you will fit in just fine.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to tell you guys that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. (I have a very sick kitty that my husband and I are taking care of.)

I have tons to share, but haven't had the time to post. I promise I will post some recent sessions soon!

Take care

Rachel

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to photograph one of my friends, who just happens to be a photographer herself. Going into the session I had butterflies…what if I do something wrong?

But once I heard her voice and saw her big Rachel smile, I knew everything was going to be alright.

I can not believe how big her belly has gotten since the last time I saw her, it’s crazy, that baby girl had quite the grow spurt in the past month or so.

Thanks for bringing the red dress, it was too fun.

Playing

It's always a good idea to bring along your child's favourite toy to his or her sixth month session. Their favourite toy always gets their attention.

I would like to welcome Avery back to the blog. He is the product of the beautiful couple in July, and he even has his own posting in August. Now he is all grown up....well not yet, but he is tonnes bigger than his last posting.

Avery has a couple of favourite toys....but his most all time most favourtie is his NEMO. His nemo is pretty much the same size as him, but he loves it to death. He hugs it, and cuddles it, and
wrestles with him.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love watching all of my belly babies grow up. It is so rewarding to do what I do.
"I am going to get you Nemo"
"I got you"

"This is my friend Nemo"

Daddies

This little guy's daddy is being deployed to Afganistan to serve for our country as we speak.

I have a great respect for the men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line to serve and protect our country.

I wish you a safe return.

One Hot Momma

She is one of many beautiful women that I have had the opportunity to photograph during their pregnancy. I just love the glow and the exuberance of life that spills out of each and every woman I get the opportunity to photograph.

She is already the proud momma to two young boys with a new little one on the way. I think she is secretly hoping for a little girl, but another little guy would suit her just fine.

Let’s hope for a little girl, so she isn’t quite so outnumbered at her house :)

Breathtaking

I knew from the moment they walked in that this was going to be an amazing session.
When they left, I felt one of those moments where I knew that I wouldn’t have to look at the back of the camera to see if I had gotten every shot.
The creatively that flowed through this couple was unlike anything I had seen before. They were right with me with my every thought.
Thank you for being so wonderful. Thank you for your endless creatively. It was a pleasure photographing you and your soon to be arrival.

Daddy’s Little Girl—Part 2

I am very proud to present Holly. She is the cute little girl of the Daddy’s little girl post in November. She was born mid December, a Christmas baby just like her daddy.
I still can’t believe how much hair she had when she was born! There must be good hair genes in your family :)
She is absolutely perfect and I am so happy that I got to photograph her very first photo session.

I love this image....Holly looks so darn cute!

Chris & Rhonda

I had the great honour of photographing their wedding in 2005, and now I am absolutely thrilled to photograph their first pregnancy.

They are a very wonderful, fun loving couple who definitely belong with each other. Their love for one another is so strong. They are super cute together.

I love that Rhonda brought lots of different clothing options for me. (Thank you to the store that let us “borrow” their jeans for the shoot.)

I can’t wait to meet your little one when he or she arrives…..In my professional opinion, I think your having a boy. (Or a girl, who knows. :) But I am definitely thinking boy.) I can’t wait to watch he or she grow through the first year.
