Mommy- to- be

I had the opportunity last week to photograph this cute couple. Before the session she sent me some images of what she was looking for. I love when clients have ideas of what kind of images they would like, it gives me a starting point....
There were two from a session her friend did while she was pregnant, and two were from her wedding. It wasn't quite as easy to replicate the same poses as the wedding...as there is now a belly in the way :)
The first image is my take on one of the images her friend did, and the last image is one of the wedding images we tried to replicate.
I hope you guys had an awesome time. It was great to meet you guys. Take care.

After some serious email and website issues, the site and blog are back up, so if you were trying to get a hold of me during Christmas, please resend your emails.

The week before Christmas was crazy, between shoots and putting clients orders together, there wasn't much time left for blogging.

So I thought that I would give you an update: I am attempting to get the clients I shot just before Christmas galleries up before I go on vacation. (I have one of too many to count done. --6 days left before I am sitting on the beach.)
I would like to share these three images from one of the sessions I had before Christmas.

Smiles & Giggles

Last weekend I had the honour to photograph this beautiful little girl just two weeks before her one year anniversary.

When she first came to the studio for our little meet and greet before the session, she was very shy with me, but once she got used to her surroundings, she was all smiles and giggles.
She brought with her two super cute outfits: one her Grandma sent her from overseas, and another that her mom bought her. (Mama’s little winter baby…complete with a very cute hat…..that stayed on her head for about two seconds.)

To her mom and dad: kudos to you for helping me entertains her. She understands very little English, so getting her to interact with me was a challenge, but we made it work. Have a very safe holiday. I will see you in the new year.

1st Family Portrait

I met this family during their maternity session, and I was astounded even then by how much this couple loved and cared for one another. During their newborn session it was even more apparent. They were very sweet and caring, and very devoted to their little girl.
Congratulations, she is beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your very first family portrait.

Ben

This little guy is 9 months old, and he is a busy little dude. He wanted to run, jump, crawl away from me....Getting his portrait taken really wasn't on his list of things to do yesterday. But we made due....I am sure that the offices around the studio thought there was a three ring circus next door instead of a portrait studio. Laughter, giggles and roaring are always better than tears.

6 Months

My oh my, has he ever grown. I can’t believe how much they change in such a little amount of time. Just 7 months ago, this little guy was growing in his mommy’s tummy, and now he is this little dude.

I love the fact that his mom brought some of his favourite toys. I love the little football shoes and football. (Daddy is a huge football fan!)

I love his little blocks too! The best part about the blocks is….the one yellow quacks! (great attention grabber!)

Daddy’s little girl

When we were wrapping up the session I asked if there were any other poses they wanted to do, and mom said, “How about a daddy’s little girl shot?” Daddy’s little girl would be a very suiting title for this shot. I love it!

I am so glad we had the opportunity to fit you in before she arrives. I had a great time, I can’t wait to meet her in the next couple of weeks.

Prints needed by Christmas?

As the middle of November soon approaches us, I just wanted to send out a little reminder that if you would like prints from your sessions by Christmas, they must be ordered by the 21st of November.

Family

Welcoming Shae into their lives was a dream come true. She is absolutely perfect. She is probably the tiniest baby I have had the opportunity to photograph in a long time.

This is my second favourite shot from the session. My favourite shot is the main image of her birth announcement. (her little eyelashes and eyebrows are priceless.)

I can't wait until her next session. Until then, take care.

The October Babies

I would like to welcome the October babies to the blog. What a bunch of cuties!

She has arrived!

Please welcome to the world….Elizabeth!!

She was slightly tentative about coming into this world. (She was just too comfy in mommy’s tummy to come out!) But now she is here, and ready to be the joy of her parents lives.
Congratulations, she is a dream come true.

Family

I love little kids, they have such personality. This is Keelan. He is super cute. Very energetic and proved to me once again…I need a bigger studio! (Space is slightly too small to chase after energetic little dudes!) Nonetheless we had a great time.

I love these two images. I love when I can capture the realness of people and let their emotions shine through.

Carly –Part 2

There are many words to describe Carly…she is cute, energetic, crazy, smart, lovable and talkative, just to name a few. I had a great time photographing her once again.

Sorry for making to lean against the bird poop wall. (I am so thankful; you didn’t get any on you….) A slight sacrifice for a beautiful shot.

So what are you doing next spring…up for more?

Olivia

She gets cuter and cuter every time I see her. I love her cheeks and her big black eyes! How could you not love her, she is a doll. I could just eat her up!
But every time I went to take a picture, she put on her serious face. We couldn’t coach any smiles out of her. Her mom and I tried everything, but still no smiles. (We even spun her around, sang classic baby songs and played in the leaves)
On the beautiful Sunday afternoon amongst the brightly coloured leaves, she decided to ponder her thoughts, than give us her classic Olivia smile.

May

Playful and loving is how I would describe May and Del. May knew exactly what she wanted when she came in to see me. I love when clients know exactly what they want, that makes my job so easy…I can just let the client do what they want and capture it how it happens. I find that images that I have little to no influence in create the best images. The expressions are true. The emotions are real. I also love it when clients bring keepsakes for their soon to be child. May brought beautiful silk booties from the Philippians. She also brought a framed picture from her ultrasound. (How cool is that.

Outside Maternity Session

Last night I did an adventurous session in the park. It was a great night. The fall air is upon us. It only rained for our last shots at the fountain. We got kinda wet going to the fountain, but it was for a good cause and the couple was more than willing to participate.

I hope you guys enjoy your little preview, the studio shots will be up soon, take care.

Carly

I have had a great pleasure of photographing Carly three times now. The first time was in 2000, the second time was in 2005, and the third time was last week. I can’t believe how much she has changed through the years. She has always been very photogenic and comfortable in front of the camera. (I have included for everyone’s viewing pleasure a recap of the images through the years.)
Thanks for coming in, I can’t wait until we go outside at the end of the month.

Clients from all over Alberta

Blue Frame has grown leaps and bounds this year. In the past couple of months I have booked clients from all over Alberta. It is so wonderful to see. Thank you to all who have passed my name and website around to others, the response has been awesome.

A client that I photographed last week was one of those out of town clients. She and her partner came all the way from Wabasca to see me. I am totally in love with this image, I am so glad we decided to play with the material. It turned out amazing.

Thanks for coming to see me; I can’t wait to meet your little one. Take care.

Serious Catching Up - Part two

Also in the past months I had the opportunity to photograph the formal portraits of a maternity couple I had last December. (They are the couple that are on the splash page of my website.) It was so crazy…They had planned to get married two days before the actual wedding. They had planned on going home to Nova Scotia to get married, but all the planning was just too stressful. (I totally agree! It can be so overwhelming sometimes, and really, it’s all about what the couple wants, not anyone else.) So they decided that they were getting married here, and fly home after. So the bride called me on the Saturday morning of the wedding…I was still sleeping. She called three times, and my husband brought me my phone, and said “something’s going on; someone has called you three times.” But no one left a message. So I checked my email and there was an email from her asking if I was busy. I hadn’t had any real plans that day. So we met up in a ravine by their house, and took some lovely casual portraits of the beautiful couple and their little guy Jesse. It was a great afternoon with no stress. It was exactly what they wanted. I heard that she didn’t cry until she saw tears in her groom’s eyes. How perfect is that.
Serious Catching Up To Do
So the past 2 and half weeks have been a complete blur…To much to do, so little time. It feels like I haven’t posted anything forever.

So we are going to go back to a session I did in June. (before I started blogging…but I have to, this little girl is so adorable.) Her name is Addison. She is this perfect little angel. At the time she wasn’t talking, wasn’t walking not even crawling. She is a well deserved breath of fresh air for her parents. (She has two older brothers who like to run their parents wild at times. Even with their abundant energy they are very cute and love their little sister to pieces.) She is ever more adorable now that she is out of her mom’s belly. I photographed her mom last August.

These munchkins’ parents are friends of ours. They are so cute. I love how their eyes sparkle. We had a great time playing in the playground by their school. The little guys were more interested in playing in the sand, then actually getting their photograph taken, but that’s alright, Abigail was more than willing to get her picture taken. Her parents are in some trouble when she turns 16! She is a beautiful little girl!
